This is perfect, John thought as he leaned back, looking at the waves rolled onto the beautiful Hawaiian beach in front of him. Thanks to his sunglasses, he was able to turn slightly and watch Teyla walk against the shoreline without her noticing.
She was in a tiny bikini, her feet bare.
Though she had seemed unsure about wearing the tiny bathing suit, once he had assured her it was normal for her to wear, she put it on excitedly.
Despite John's effort to not be obvious in his ogling, Teyla turned back to him and waved a little. He lifted up his hand from the warm sun and waved back.
She walked up to wear their towels were and sat next to him. "I still cannot believe the SGC allowed us to take a vacation on Earth," she said, putting on her pair of sunglasses.
"Yeah, well, it was about time," John replied. "No paperwork for a week sounds good to me."
"The amount of documentation your people require is daunting at times," she agreed. She looked at the water for several seconds. "Do you not think Rodney would have liked to come here?"
John made a face. They were on a relatively secluded beach and she was thinking about McKay? "No, he's much happier giving that speech at his alma mater," he assured her.
She nodded, looking at him openly. "It is nice to spend some time alone, is it not?"
"Absolutely," he said, hiding a slight wince. That might have come off way to eagerly.
Teyla grinned as she inched closer to him. "Perhaps when the sun goes down we can return here and go skinny dipping," she suggested with a playful grin.
What? he thought.
"What?" he squeaked. "How do you know about that?"
"It would be fun," she said, ignoring his question.
He leaned over her, pushing her into her sand. "You are going to be the death of me, Teyla."
She smiled as she leaned up, giving him a passionate kiss. Just as he was about to join in the fun, she pulled away slowly. "John?" she asked, slightly worried.
John pulled back, confused by the shift in her mood. "What?"
She looked around, as if she couldn't see him. "John!"
"I'm right here," he said, getting nervous.
"John! Please, answer me," she replied, her voice getting louder.
"Teyla! I'm here!" he answered.
"John!" she called again.
He closed his eyes at the sound of her loud voice. When he opened them, the beach was gone, replaced with the cold, slightly damp ground underneath him.
He was rewarded, however, with a bright smile from Teyla. She looked at someone standing behind John. "He is fine," she said softly.
John closed his eyes as reality settled in. Fight with the Wraith. Downed Jumper. No communication with Atlantis. Severe concussion.
He looked at Teyla. "So I guess that means you don't own a bikini, do you?"
Teyla frowned slightly. "A what?"
John sighed as he closed his eyes again. "Just wake me up when McKay figures out how to get us out of here. I've got a date with a beautiful woman I need to go back to.
