So, I was chatting with my buddy last night when my computer suddenly froze. I was like, "Huh?" Did a force reboot and was able to get back on.  Made some kind of sarcastic remark to her about my computer protesting ten windows being open at the same time and went on with my night.  Came back a little later to see if my professor ever emailed me back (he didn't) and the computer froze. Again. 

Annoyed, I put my computer to sleep mode and walked away after I restarted it...Fast forward to this morning when I was watching Skip Heitzig and then, right in the middle of the vid, my computer FREEZES. Now I'm panicked.  Lappy is sick!

So I try restarting.

Nothing.

*insert mass panic now*

All I was thinking was all of my iTunes music! My pictures! And (most importantly) all of my WIPs! So, I managed to put my computer into safe mode and transfer *most* of the files I wanted (the important ones I got first) when the computer froze again. Now, well, let's just say all I get is a blue screen of death. *points to icon* No safe mode, no system restore...

So, right now I'm feeling a little like Buzz Lightyear now.

So now I'm working on Dino.  The computer from like 2002, but it works so I'm grateful for that.

*hugs* You without computer iz wrong :( My laptop almost died too yesterday, rang PC World and they talked me through fixing it, but now I've put a new security system on it and it's sooo slow.

Well, Mike tried fixing it but there's part of the registry missing. Or something. But, he had a good deal at work, so he just bought me a new laptop and is going to make fixing my old one a project for him, LOL.

Ohhh, that is rotten. Mine has been randomly turning off. Just--ploop!--no more laptop, which has me super nervous.

I know, right?!? Is it weird that the first thing I worry about are WIPs?

That was the first thing I thought of. I was like, "OK, I know I have most of my pictures on my memory card and Shutterfly. And I can transfer my iTunes downloads from my iPod. But, WHAT ABOUT MY WIPS??!!!"

I had to take Keira to school before I could attempt to transfer my files to my external hard drive and all I kept thinking was "There are about 40,000 words of WIPs sitting on that hard drive."

Needless to say, my document folder was the first one I transfered over. ROFL

Well, my hubby tried to get it working, but no luck. We bought me a new computer and he's going to try to fix my old one later (when we get the recovery disc for Toshiba)...if it works, then he just got himself a new laptop. ROFL

Nah, Mike doesn't think he had anything to do with any of the programs I was running. (Each time it happened, I was using different programs.) He said something about bad sectors, something about the registry and needing a new hard drive...but I was looking at my pretty new computer to pay too much attention to him. LOL

Totally annoying, but I managed to get my files off before it totally kicked the bucket. If I hadn't, I would have been crushed.

Yappi, I'm so sorry. *hugs* I had issues of my own last night with my lappy and trying to get into an Elluminate session for my class. I was an hour and 13 minutes late. Darn Java not working on me. I hope you were able to save a lot.

Yeah, I was able to save most of everything I needed. (I wasn't able to transfer my lecture notes or either paper from my class last semester and most of my HD caps were lost, but the important things--personal pictures, all my music and my WIPs were saved.)

That's good. I accidentally deleted a lot of pictures last September, and unfortunately, when I did a recovery I was unable to get them back. So I know how you feel.
