It's so interesting to watch Hatter and Alice build a relationship, where he is already not convinced of all her good qualities. You really hit upon an excellent character development device, I think. His confusion and his mixed feelings are so very Hatter and yet not directed in a manner we would expect. I look forward to watching their relationship develop.
I have to admit, it is nice to see Absolem as the Caterpillar. It makes me realize that I miss him as he Was prior to becoming a butterfly.
All of the tie-ins with the original books tickle me, yet again. Her regret for having stood up for the Knave was a nice touch. And Alice must become a Queen again by reaching the correct square. Lovely!
